Telehealth Notice
Effective Date: January 15, 2026
Last Updated: January 15, 2026
Cavier Therapy offers psychotherapy services through telehealth (virtual sessions). This page explains what to expect from telehealth and outlines important requirements for care.
Telehealth-Only Practice
Cavier Therapy is a telehealth-only practice. Sessions are conducted virtually and are not offered in person at this time.
Client Location Requirement
Clients must be physically located in New York State at the time of each session. If you are traveling or located outside of New York during a scheduled appointment, the session may need to be rescheduled.
Telehealth Informed Consent
Before beginning services, clients are required to review and agree to telehealth informed consent as part of the intake process. Telehealth services begin only after intake documents and required consents are completed.
Privacy and Confidentiality
Telehealth sessions are held through a secure platform. While Cavier Therapy takes reasonable steps to protect confidentiality, telehealth involves additional considerations, including privacy limitations related to your environment and technology.
To support confidentiality, clients are encouraged to:
Join sessions from a private, quiet location
Use a secure internet connection
Use headphones when helpful
Limit interruptions during the session
Technology and Session Environment
To participate in telehealth, you will need:
A stable internet connection
A device with video and audio capabilities (phone, tablet, or computer)
A private setting where you can speak openly
If there are technical issues, we may attempt to reconnect. If we cannot reconnect, we will follow the backup plan outlined in your intake documents.
Emergencies and Crisis Support
Cavier Therapy does not provide emergency services through telehealth, email, or this website.
If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, call 911 or the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, or go to your nearest emergency room.
Communication Between Sessions
For confidentiality reasons, therapy is not provided through email, text messages, or social media. These channels are not secure for clinical communication.
